5 Tips for Hair Growth
In the salon, we hear it all the time: “How can I get my hair to grow faster?”. Whether you're trying to bounce back from breakage or just want to boost your length, there are a few habits that make a big difference. Here are five simple (but seriously effective) tips to help your hair thrive.
1. Brush Your Hair Daily
This isn’t just about smoothing things out—it’s about scalp health. Daily brushing boosts blood circulation, which helps deliver nutrients to your hair follicles. Use a gentle brush (boar bristle is great!) and take your time—it’s the perfect slow-down moment in your day.
2. Wash Less Often
If you’re washing your hair every day, your natural oils barely stand a chance. For most people, 2–3 washes per week is ideal. This helps preserve moisture and keeps your strands stronger over time. Fine hair? Start with three times a week and adjust from there.
3. Use a Scalp Scrub Weekly
Scalp scrubs = underrated. They clear out buildup from dry shampoo, oils, and product, making space for your follicles to breathe (and grow). Plus, a gentle exfoliation helps with circulation. Try adding this step to your Sunday self-care lineup once a week.
4. Nourish with Oils
A little oil goes a long way—especially when it comes to growth. We love rosemary or castor oil for the scalp 1–2x a week, massaged in and left to absorb. You can also smooth a few drops of nourishing oil on your ends before bed to keep them hydrated and split-end free.
5. Swap to Claw Clips
Cute and healthy? Yes please. Claw clips are way gentler on your hair than tight elastics, which can tug and cause breakage. They’re perfect for keeping your hair up without stressing your strands.
Remember, hair growth doesn’t happen overnight, but these simple swaps can make a noticeable difference over time. Want to create a hair care routine that actually works for you? Come see us at the salon—we’d love to help.
